This commercial catering ACS package certifies engineers to work on commercial catering gas systems. Includes CCCN1, COMCAT1 and COMCAT3. Suitable for engineers from either a domestic or commercial background. Refresher training and assessment included.
The Commercial Catering Package at Vulcana Training is designed for gas engineers working in professional kitchens such as restaurants, takeaways, and canteens. This course includes:
CCCN1 – Core Commercial Catering Gas Safety
COMCAT1 – Free-standing catering appliances
COMCAT3 – Deep fat and pressure fryers
It provides the full qualification required to work on commercial catering appliances and systems. Refresher training is included at the start of the course, followed by written and practical assessment.
Important Note:
To take this course, you must hold a valid core or changeover gas safety qualification – either CCN1 (domestic) or COCN1 (commercial) or CODNCO (commercial changeover). This is a mandatory prerequisite for all commercial ACS appliance assessments.
CCCN1 – Core Commercial Catering Gas Safety
Gas safety, flueing, combustion, ventilation, unsafe situations, and appliance servicing within catering environments.
COMCAT1 – Free-standing catering appliances
Installation, servicing and safety of cookers, ovens and grills.
COMCAT3 – Deep fat and pressure fryers
Safe operation, maintenance and servicing of gas-fuelled fryer equipment.
COMCAT2, 4 or 5 – Available on request
TPCP1 / TPCP1A – For testing and purging (booked separately)
This course is classed as an initial assessment. You must:
Hold a valid core gas qualification: CCN1 or COCN1 or CODNCO
Be Gas Safe registered for at least 12 months
Provide evidence of qualifications and registration at the time of booking
You may take the reassessment route if:
Your CCCN1 and COMCAT modules are still valid, or
They expired within the last 12 months
If expired more than 12 months ago, the initial assessment route will apply.
All our courses include refresher training and are delivered in a supportive setting to help you feel confident and well-prepared for assessment.
Yes, training manuals and certificates are included in the course fees, except for OFTEC reassessment course training material, where are charged separately.
Any required study materials will be provided on the first day of your course. However, if you prefer to collect them in advance, you can do so by making prior arrangements with us.
With a 99.9% pass rate, it’s unlikely—but if you don’t pass, we’ll discuss your options, including reassessment and additional training if needed.
