This changeover package allows experienced domestic gas engineers to transition into commercial work. Includes COCN1, CORT1, CIGA1 and ICPN1. Your CCN1 must remain valid for this qualification to remain active.
The Commercial Changeover Package at Vulcana Training is designed for qualified domestic gas engineers who want to expand their scope into commercial gas work. This course leads to ACS certification in COCN1, CORT1, CIGA1 and ICPN1 through the recognised CODNCO changeover route.
It covers core safety for commercial installations, overhead radiant tube heaters, indirect-fired appliances, and first fix pipework. Refresher training is included, followed by full assessment.
Important Note:
As this is a changeover route, your CCN1 must remain in date for this commercial qualification to remain valid. If your domestic CCN1 expires, your CODNCO (and linked commercial modules) will also lapse and require reassessment.
CODNCO – Changeover to Core Commercial Gas Safety
Provides the transition from domestic to commercial gas safety competence.
COCN1 – Core Commercial Gas Safety
Covers legislation, pipework, combustion, flueing, ventilation and unsafe situations in commercial premises.
CORT1 – Overhead Radiant Tube Heaters
Installation and servicing of radiant tube heating systems used in large commercial spaces.
CIGA1 – Indirect-Fired Appliances
Commissioning and maintenance of warm air heating systems.
ICPN1 – First Fix Commercial Pipework
Installation and testing of commercial pipework up to 150mm diameter.
TPCP1 and/or TPCP1A – Testing and purging for commercial systems (booked separately)
Additional appliance modules available on request, such as CDGA1 or CCLP1
This course is classed as an initial assessment. You must:
Hold a valid CCN1 certificate
Be Gas Safe registered for a minimum of 12 months
Provide supporting evidence of your domestic qualifications and registration at the time of booking
You may take the reassessment route if:
You currently hold CODNCO and associated modules, or
They expired within the last 12 months
If your qualification expired over 12 months ago, you will need to complete the initial assessment route again.
All our courses include refresher training and are delivered in a supportive setting to help you feel confident and well-prepared for assessment.
Yes, training manuals and certificates are included in the course fees, except for OFTEC reassessment course training material, where are charged separately.
Any required study materials will be provided on the first day of your course. However, if you prefer to collect them in advance, you can do so by making prior arrangements with us.
With a 99.9% pass rate, it’s unlikely—but if you don’t pass, we’ll discuss your options, including reassessment and additional training if needed.
