This ACS course covers domestic cookers (CKR1) and gas fires and space heaters (HTR1). Designed for Gas Safe registered engineers expanding into new appliance areas. Includes refresher training and assessment.
The CKR1 & HTR1 course at Vulcana Training is designed for qualified domestic gas engineers who already hold CCN1 and wish to extend their scope to include domestic cookers and gas fires. This package offers the necessary ACS modules to legally install, service and maintain these appliances.
Whether you’re looking to expand your business offering or meet customer demand, this course enables you to work on two of the most common domestic gas appliances beyond boilers and central heating systems.
Both CKR1 and HTR1 assessments are included in this course, with refresher training provided at the start to ensure you’re up to speed with current standards.
CKR1 – Domestic Cookers
Focuses on:
Installation, commissioning, and servicing of gas hobs, freestanding cookers, and built-in appliances
Ventilation and flueing requirements
Identifying faults and unsafe situations
HTR1 – Gas Fires & Space Heaters
Covers:
Open-flue and room-sealed gas fires
Decorative fuel effect appliances and wall heaters
Flue performance testing, installation standards, and maintenance procedures
Training and assessments are delivered through a combination of classroom-based refreshers and hands-on practical tasks.
If you’re looking to further expand your domestic gas qualifications, you can add the following appliance modules:
DAH1 – Warm air heating systems
MET1 – Meters
These can be booked alongside CKR1 and HTR1 and assessed during the same visit.
This course is classed as an initial assessment for CKR1 and HTR1.
You must:
Hold a valid CCN1 certificate
Be Gas Safe registered for a minimum of 12 months
Provide proof of your qualifications at the time of booking
