The LPG Changeover Package (CONGLP1 PD, RPH, LAV & HTRLP2) course at Vulcana Training is ideal for natural gas engineers who want to broaden their LPG qualifications across multiple property types and appliances. This package includes the core LPG changeover module plus key assessments for residential park homes, leisure accommodation vehicles, and gas fires and space heaters (HTRLP2).
This course is particularly suitable for engineers working in off-grid environments such as holiday parks, static home sites, or rural areas where LPG-fuelled gas fires are common.
The package includes refresher training followed by assessment across all modules.
CONGLP1 PD – Changeover to LPG for Permanent Dwellings
Covers LPG safety, storage, installation standards, and key differences from natural gas systems in fixed dwellings.
RPH – Residential Park Homes
Focuses on the unique requirements for LPG installations in park homes, including specific ventilation and appliance regulations.
LAV – Leisure Accommodation Vehicles
Covers touring caravans and holiday homes, including flueing, flame supervision, ventilation, and safe use of LPG appliances.
HTRLP2 – Gas Fires & Space Heaters (LPG)
Includes open and room-sealed LPG fires, decorative fuel effect appliances, and wall heaters. Covers installation, commissioning, servicing and flue testing.
All training is supported by refresher sessions before theory and practical assessments.
To further extend your LPG capability, you can add the following modules to this course:
CMC – Caravan mobile catering
VESLP1-2 – LPG vessels
These can be taken alongside your existing package or scheduled separately based on availability.
This package is an initial assessment for the LPG category.
To attend, you must:
Hold a valid CCN1 certificate (Core Domestic Natural Gas Safety)
Be registered on the Gas Safe Register for a minimum of 12 months
Provide supporting evidence of your qualifications and registration when booking
You may take the reassessment route if:
You currently hold CONGLP1 PD, RPH, LAV, and HTRLP2, or
Your certificates expired less than 12 months ago
You are registered on the Gas Safe Register for at least 12 months
If your certificates are over 12 months out of date, the initial assessment route will apply.
All our courses include refresher training and are delivered in a supportive setting to help you feel confident and well-prepared for assessment.
Yes, training manuals and certificates are included in the course fees, except for OFTEC reassessment course training material, where are charged separately.
Any required study materials will be provided on the first day of your course. However, if you prefer to collect them in advance, you can do so by making prior arrangements with us.
With a 99.9% pass rate, it’s unlikely—but if you don’t pass, we’ll discuss your options, including reassessment and additional training if needed.
